Stay Physically active
Poor dietary habits often go hand in hand with a lack of physical activity. Scientific evidence shows that physical activity benefits brain health at any age.
Aim to be physically active every day:
-
Get moving for at least 30 minutes a day
Choose activities that get your heart rate up and make you breathe a little faster, such as brisk walking, housework, DIY or gardening. -
Take part in regular, moderate physical activity
Try activities such as swimming, walking, cycling or gentle exercise classes. -
Make movement part of your daily routine
Take the stairs instead of the lift, and walk rather than drive whenever possible.
If you are usually inactive and would like to start exercising, consult your doctor first.
